The wait is almost finished and there’s great excitement about the forthcoming season which will see 17 riders (14 of them already crowned as World Champions at least once in their careers) involved in the premier class battle for the last 800cc World Title as, from the 2012, a new technical regulation will apply the introduction of a 1000c engine capacity.
Up to today, after the Formula 1, the MotoGP Championship is the most popular motorsport discipline worldwide and this year there will be a great show once again with Lorenzo defending his title aboard his Yamaha M1, with Stoner coming back to Honda (after his debut with LCR Team in 2006) and Rossi on his debut aboard the Italian Ducati. Even this season the most talented riders from across the world, participating in three different classes (MotoGP, Moto2 and 125cc), will be the protagonists of a unique show thanks to the breathtaking overtakes aboard the several prototypes realized by the most important Manufactures such as Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Ducati.
The 62nd edition of the MotoGP Championship will start on the 20th of March at Losail (Qatar) and, as you can see in the enclosed calendar, will include 18 GPs in 14 different countries till the last popular GP of the Comunitat Valenciana planned on the 6th of November.
The LCR Honda MotoGP Team will celebrate his 16th season in the Championship and the 6th year of participation in the premier class thanks to the renewed cooperation with Honda HRC displaying on the grid the 2010 Moto2 World Champion Toni Elias.
New rider but same staff for the Team managed by the former rider Lucio Cecchinello who, even this year, will cooperate with 26 members from 9 different countries and, for the 5th consecutive year, will be part of the IRTA Committee (Management Committee of the International Road Racing Teams Association).
